Winter?

28 10 2008

Today it was cold, so cold it made my face go cold :(

But anyway the weather was weird today. I went into town and was sitting in Starbucks by the window. Looking up out the window there was a huge black cloud coming this way, something that could end the world, like massive? Anyway I go to my friends “that’s gonna rain it is”

Finally after me chanting a rain song in my head (something like “rain rain rain rain rain rain rain rain … rain) But it didn’t come as rain. due to the coldness it turned the rain into hail. Which wasn’t any old hailstones. They were the size of Skittles and slushy. We then had a debate if it was snow or hail. Then overhearing our conversation, some member of staff leaned over and goes “Well I’m out there clearing the table up .. trust me there’s a bit of snow there”. (Seriously that was so weird, its not like we asked for your input. But one of the girls decided to run out into it so we all chased her out too.

Then I had to bike home in it with numb hands and numb cheeks. And it wasnt a quick 10 minute downhill, I had to ride over 3 miles … uphill. And after being warm inside, turns out around near London it had been snowing. Its October .. nor normal! Bring back summer :(

Why Are Siblings So Annoying?

4 10 2008

Just another Saturday today. Went into town as usual. But this time .. I decided to bike! XD

Haven’t done that in a while. But me and my friend rode into town he got a game for his Xbox and I got a game for my PS3. £40 for a game. Yeah I thought it was too much too but I wanted it :(

After all my shopping was done (buying one item) we went to see a few friends. Now they lived somewhere called Chelmer Village, no this was a totally unknown place to us. But we were determined to find the house. For everyone who isn’t from there, Chelmer Village is a relatively new development full of modern houses, happy families and general modern society. As this place is home to hundreds and hundreds of late 20th century buildings, they tend to all look the same.

Now there were alleyways and walkthroughs everywhere, leading from a road marked as “Odds 1-13″ to “Evens 24-30″. After an hour of searching we rang up and got the gusy to come meet us. Turns out we’d gone past it more than once.

But it was fun watching Saw (the worst film ever made) and some strange film about a girl starting her period and getting beaten by her mother because of that. But I had sat around for 4 or 5 hours watching films when everyone started to leave. I had brought my bike so I couldn’t catch a lift with anyone. So I texted my sister asking for a lift. She told me to ride back home at 7PM in under 10C temperatures, rain and pitch black. After replying with a few swear words in a text she decided to come and pick me up, put the bike in the boot and take me home before she went out.

We had an argument about the fact “i should have rode home” … So I went on Google Maps, turns out our house was 4 miles away … that 11 minutes by car … imagine if I rode. Especially in the rain and cold, and also a Saturday night in Essex. Not the safest of ideas with the amount of people hanging out on the streets doing god knows what.

It’s meant to rain tomorrow … all day :(

Bringing Back Your Past.

Mmmm bike
Ever had a love for something and then given it up due to any number of reasons (boredom, lack of funding, business) but then a few weeks/months/years you go back to that thing and find out your not too bad?

Well after tens of people urging me to get back to my Xbox I decided to actually follow their instructions. One game and one game only, Call Of Duty 4. When I used to play it when it had just come out I was pretty good – I was at the highest level and I came top of most games.

But after getting bored of the same levels with the same people I stopped playing. But I picked up the controller today and well I started coming first again. Seems like when you good at something you dont lost your greatness. Like riding a bike. After a few months of not riding I found it easy to get back on and ride down the main road running through Chelmsford. Sure I was a bit wobbly but I didn’t fall of and … die!

Talking about death … Wednesday – Goodbye world!

Sponsored Bike Ride (Without The Fundraising)

Wet

Me and Dale rode around my hometown of Chelmsford. It rained … it hailed. We got wet and we got muddy. We were riding for about two hours in the extreme weather. And most of it was uphill. There wasn’t really any logic to bike riding through the country getting lost but it was so fun!

But basically it was a day off school and we had energy to burn. The weather started off fine. We went to the shops to get a drink then rode down some bridelways and footpaths and ended up on random country roads (most of them long and windy). As we were making our way up a hill we heard gunshots. This startled us a bit so we pedaled as fast as we could. We also found a river and started throwing stones in it then we noticed there was a weird metal thing under the bridge. But the best part of the day was when we found a downhill road down in a forest. I was going too fast that I couldn’t pedal even though I tried so bloody hard! We also got caught up in hailstorm. We were riding along a main road. Then hailstones started to fall. And then the wind blew them in our direction. Believe me it isn’t safe.

But we made it home safe  Yay!
